2026 China Badminton Elite Summer Camp
Do you want to train with the Chinese National Team and elevate your game. Capital Badminton Academy (CBA) is the exclusive registration channel for the 2026 China Badminton Elite Summer Camp (Sichuan). China–USA Youth Badminton International Cultural Exchange Program, starting from July 25 - August 8, 2026 at the the Sichuan National Badminton Training Base (also known as the Chengdu Shuangliu National Badminton Training Base) is one of the largest and most advanced badminton training facilities in the world. Located in the Shuangliu District of Chengdu, it serves as the primary "home base" and closed-training camp for the Chinese National Badminton Team as they prepare for major international events like the Olympics and World Championships.
I. Program Overview
Location: Chengdu, Sichuan, China (Professional Badminton Training Center / Sichuan Sports Center / National Team Training Base)
Program Dates: July 25 – August 8, 2026
Participants: Youth: Ages 12–18; Adults: Ages 18+
Participants include U.S. school badminton teams, club players, competitive athletes, and dedicated enthusiasts. Training groups are divided by levels.
Capacity:
Each session accommodates 4 training groups, with a coach-to-student ratio of 1:6, ensuring individualized attention and high-quality instruction.

III. Coaching Staff
Head Coach:
Zhong Bo – Former Deputy Head Coach of the Chinese Badminton National Team (former partner of Head Coach Li Yongbo). Responsible for overall training design and technical direction.
Coaching Team:
Sichuan Provincial Team Coaches: Tang Jun, Li Gen, Zhou Jianmin, and others. They lead daily training sessions, focusing on technical refinement, tactical application, physical conditioning, and group-based instruction.
With a 1:6 coach-to-student ratio, every participant receives personalized, professional guidance.
IV. Training Features
This elite-level advanced training program is led by nationally certified coaches and follows China’s renowned high-performance training system—emphasizing technical precision, physical development, and competitive readiness.
Participants train alongside the Sichuan Provincial Team, gaining firsthand experience in a professional training environment that fosters rapid improvement through real-world intensity.

The camp is hosted at a National Team Training Facility, where participants live and train under the same professional management as the athletes. V. Training Program
Training Duration
Approximately 6 hours of daily training, including morning conditioning. The curriculum is modeled after China’s professional training system and customized by the Chinese coaching staff based on skill level.

Technical Training
Core skills: clears, smashes, drop shots, net play, defensive techniques. Intensity and frequency tailored to each level. -
Tactical Training
Singles and doubles strategies match rhythm control. Delivered through group drills and match simulations. -
Physical Conditioning
Explosiveness, speed, agility, core strength. Morning sessions focus on activation, followed by specialized conditioning.

About the facility
The Sichuan National Badminton Training Base (also known as the Chengdu Shuangliu National Badminton Training Base) is one of the largest and most advanced badminton training facilities in the world. Located in the Shuangliu District of Chengdu, it serves as the primary "home base" and closed-training camp for the Chinese National Badminton Team as they prepare for major international events like the Olympics and World Championships.

Capacity: The base covers approximately 100 acres and features 88 professional courts that meet Olympic broadcasting standards across three main halls.

Dimensions: The main training hall has a ceiling height of 19 meters, providing the vertical space required for elite-level play.

Supporting Infrastructure: It includes an athlete's apartment (approx. 200 beds), a specialized nutrition canteen, high-performance strength training rooms, medical clinics, and a hydrotherapy recovery center.

Recent Upgrades: Opened in 2013, the facility underwent a major renovation in 2021 to serve as the official training venue for the Chengdu FISU World University Games.

About the training facility
The base covers an area of approximately about 16.5 acres and is divided into six sections, including a professional badminton training hall, a public fitness hall, athlete apartments, a rehabilitation center, a spa/water therapy center, and tennis courts.

Badminton courts
It features 88 standard badminton courts, as well as tennis courts, synthetic running tracks, and other specialized training equipment and facilities.

Accommodation
2 people sharing one room. The rooms are spacious, well-ventilated, and beautifully decorated and fully furnished.

Dinning hall
The athlete dining hall capable of accommodating 200 people at a time. Meals can be prepared to be nutritious, safe, hygienic, and delicious according to your needs, allowing you to enjoy authentic Sichuan cuisine without leaving the base.

Spa
The base also features a spa and wellness center specifically designed for athlete training and post-match recovery. Dry sauna rooms, steam rooms, ice sauna rooms, hot pools, warm pools, and ice pools are all highly effective for relieving fatigue and reducing lactic acid buildup.
